• With an amount of EUR 553 million within the framework of financial cooperation between the European Union and Turkey is the largest infrastructure project to be realized.

• Upon the completion of the project, a high-speed train line with a dual line on the 231 km route between Halkalı and Kapıkule, at a speed of 200 km / h, for the purpose of carrying passengers and cargo will be built.

• With routes extending to the border with Bulgaria Istanbul Halkali-Kapıkule our country Railway Line project in a geographical sense it symbolizes the binding Turkey to the EU.

Definition of the Project Work: The Samsun-Kalın railway line is 378 kilometres long. It is a single line that has no signalization and electrification systems. The rehabilitation of the line shall be realised within the framework of the project and its signalization systems will be integrated.

Scope of the Project Work: The Irmak-Karabük-Zonguldak Railway Line is 415 kilometres long. Currently it is a single line without signalization and electrification systems. The rehabilitation, signalization and telecommunication systems werebe constructed under the project. The project is divided into two phases. The First Phase comprises the Zonguldak-Karabük section (124 kilometres main line), while the Second Phase comprises the Karabük-Irmak section (291 kilometres main line).
