Monitoring and Evaluation in the Scope of European Union Guidelines Training was Held

Within the scope of the Strengthening the Transport Operating Structure and ERAs in IPA II (2014-2020) Period Project, co-financed with the EU under the Sectoral Operational Programme for Transport (USOP) managed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the "Monitoring and Evaluation in the Scope of EU Guidelines Training" for Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the EU Investments Department of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure was successfully completed on 17-18 December 2025 in Ankara.

Led by expert trainer Ejder Yelken and conducted in accordance with European Union guidelines, this 2-day training aimed to improve participants' expertise in measurement, assessment, and reporting. The focus was specifically on monitoring and evaluation activities for projects funded under IPA II.

Within the scope of the training, the tasks and processes for monitoring and evaluation of IPA II projects were discussed in detail in the framework of European Union guidelines. Additionally, the current monitoring and evaluation activities carried out within the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure were assessed in comparison with EU requirements, with particular focus on developing a monitoring and evaluation approach for technical support projects and their components. In addition to theoretical presentations, the training also included case studies and practical exercises based on existing data sets, reporting applications, and project documents.

The training was successfully completed with active group work and participant questions.
