
Trabzon Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (Trabzon SUMP) Contract Is Signed and Kick-Off Meeting Was Held
The signing ceremony
of the Trabzon Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan Project (Trabzon SUMP, which is
supported by the European Union and the Ministry of Transport and
Infrastructure within the framework of the " Sectoral Operational Program for
Transport (USOP)", was signed and kick-off meeting was held on June 122
02023 in Trabzon.
Trabzon Sustainable
Urban Mobility Plan Project service contract was signed by TYPSA Regional
Manager David Moreno with the participation of Trabzon Metropolitan
Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu and Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure
Director General for EU Affairs and Foreign Relations and Head of Operating
Structure Burak Aykan.
After the signing
ceremony, a presentation on the progress of the project was made by the
consortium team leader Jose Laffond.
Trabzon SUMP will
include the preparation of the sustainable urban mobility plan and the
trainings, consultancy and examination of good practices, and the supervision
of bicycle paths in this process.
With Trabzon SUMP, the objectives of improving public transport systems, improving cycling and walking infrastructure, reducing traffic congestion and promoting sustainable modes of transport will be adopted to promote sustainable urban mobility.
The project aims to
create positive effects in terms of environment, economy and quality of life.
