Progress Meeting held for the Construction of Cerkezkoy-Kapikule Section of Halkali-Kapikule Railway Line Project
The project progress meeting, chaired by Mr Adem Koç, Head
of the European Union Investments Department, was attended by Mr Gökhan Tacim,
Head of the Modernisation Department at the General Directorate of TCDD
Operations, representatives from the TCDD Site Control Organisation, the Contractor
and the Engineer.
During the meeting, the Contractor presented an update on
the current status of the project; the current status of as-built drawings,
spare parts records, training and operations-maintenance documentation, track
certification, certificates of origin, final construction tests, software tools
and licences, and non-conformity reports, all of which must be completed prior
to the application for provisional acceptance, was discussed. The presentation
highlighted that these items constitute critical deliverables prior to
provisional acceptance.
The assessments showed that many technical deliverables
have been completed, while the remaining documents and processes were targeted
for completion within a short-term timeline. The parties agreed to maintain
close coordination and to continue closely monitoring preparations ahead of
provisional acceptance. According to the Contractor’s presentation, it was
reported that a large number of tests had been completed, the certification
process was progressing, and a significant portion of the non-conformity
reports had been resolved.
Our Ministry continues to monitor all stages of the project
in coordination with the relevant institutions and stakeholders.
