Within the framework of the “Public Transportation Gets Smarter in
Denizli” Project, implemented under the Sectoral Operational Programme for
Transport (USOP) as part of Türkiye–EU financial cooperation and managed by the
Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, and for which Denizli Metropolitan
Municipality is the End Beneficiary, a Vision and Strategy
Workshop was held on 15 April 2025.
The aim of the workshop was to co-create a shared
vision for the future of smart mobility in Denizli and to identify key
strategies that will guide the development of the Intelligent Transport Systems
(ITS) Strategy and Action Plan under the project.
Held at the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality
Congress and Culture Center, the event gathered representatives from municipal
units, public authorities, universities, NGOs, and the private sector.
Together with the participants, a set of
potential mobility visions were evaluated—focusing on themes such as smart,
sustainable, accessible, data-driven, user-friendly, and innovative transport
systems. The session also explored strategic principles related to public
transport, walking and cycling, digitalization, energy efficiency, logistics,
governance, financing, and urban mobility.
Using digital surveys and structured group
discussions, participants’ feedback was systematically collected. These
insights served as essential inputs for shaping the final vision and
identifying strategic directions for the project.
