A Diagnostic Meeting Was Held for the Country Strategy Document for Türkiye to be Prepared by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

During the online diagnostic meeting on 20 December 2023, which was held as part of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's preparation of Country Strategy Document for Türkiye, the focus was on the discussion of Türkiye’s upcoming investment priorities, challenges, and opportunities in the transportation sector.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Burak AYKAN, Director General of EU and Foreign Relations and Head of Operating Structure, Mrs. Tijen İĞCİ (PhD), Head of Department for EU Investments, Mr. Mustafa İMAMOĞLU, Head of Department of International Policies of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Mrs. Şule KILIÇ and Mr. Mehmet ÜVEZ, Deputy Heads for Türkiye of the EBRD, as well as experts from the Ministry and the EBRD.

During the meeting, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development asked for the Ministry's investments and priority projects to be implemented in the short, medium, and long term. Mr. Burak AYKAN provided detailed information on the transport sector investments, with a particular focus on the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge connection of the Halkalı-Kapıkule Railway Line (Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section) Project, which is being co-financed through IPA funds.
