2nd Halkalı-Kapıkule Railway
Line Monitoring Board Meeting was held on 15th of June 2021 through
online platforms due to the COVID-19 conditions.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Erdem
DİREKLER (Head of Operating Structure, Director General for EU & Foreign
Affairs, MoTI) and Mr. Bernard BRUNET (Head of Unit for Turkey, DG NEAR,
European Commission)
Delegation of the European Union to Turkey
Head of Cooperation; Mr. Andre Etienne LYS, representatives of Delegation of
the EU to Turkey, representatives of EU Commission, Director General of
Infrastructure Investments; Mr. Yalçın EYİGÜN, Deputy Director General of TCDD;
Mr. İsmail ÇAĞLAR, Head of EUID Mr. Nedim YEŞİL, representative of DG II and
TCDD, and the representatives of European Bank of Reconstruction and
Development as observer participated to the meeting.
At the meeting, the participants were
informed about the implementation process of the Halkalı-Kapıkule Railway Line
Project since the previous Monitoring Board Meeting.
The Project owner institutions -TCDD and DG
II - delivered presentations on the
current status of Kapıkule-Çerkezköy, Çerkezköy-Ispartakule,
Ispartakule-Halkalı sections of the project as well as its railway connections
to Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.
