
In the scope of
the Strengthening the Transport Operating Structure and ERAs in IPA II
(2014-2020) Project, we realized a study visit to Hungary on 12-16 February
2023. Our delegation of 7 participants, consisting of the Head of Department
for EU Investments and the staff of the Department for EU Investments, met with
the authorities in Budapest and Székesfehérvár to examine possible
collaborations and ongoing projects and made site visits.
The delegation
started the study visit in Budapest on 12 February and held meetings with the
Ministry of Regional Development, Deputy Secretariat of State Responsible for
Transport, Environmental and Energy Efficiency Development Programmes on the
first day. The Ministry representatives shared their knowledge and experience
about the organizational structure, task distribution, processes and control
points of the projects carried out within the scope of Hungary's Integrated
Transport Operational Programme (ITOP). Moreover, together with the
organization's mission and duties, the progress, challenges and good practices
of ITOP-funded projects were also presented to our delegation. On the first and
hectic day, the delegation made a site visit to the construction of metro line
3, which is being carried out between Nyugati tér and Arany János utca
stations. On the second day of the visit, our delegation held meetings with the
Hungarian Motorsport and Green Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA), where they
were informed about the Agency's mission, tasks and projects. Afternoon, the
team visited the IKARUS
factory in the city of Székesfehérvár, where the latest electric buses are
made.
On February 15,
the last day of the study visit, the Turkish delegation met with TRENECON
Consulting and Planning company on strategy development, feasibility study,
preparation of authorization plans, and public procurement. Furthermore the
Hungarian Railways Technical Assistance Department, presented the the ongoing works
contracts.
