Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) and
Resilient Cities training was held in Ankara on 26-27 September within the
scope of the 'European Union Support Project for Sustainable Urban Mobility in
Cities' (SUMP Türkiye), financed by the Republic of Türkiye and the European
Union (EU), of which the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is the Contracting
Authority and the Union of Municipalities of Turkey is the End Beneficiary.
At the end of two interactive days with
international experts' presentations and group work, the participants better
understood the importance of the role of cities in achieving sustainability
goals and gained more knowledge about basic concepts such as sustainable urban
mobility and SUMP. Municipalities also have become more equipped and competent
in identifying mobility-related challenges and offering solutions.
