Samsun - Kalın Railway Line Renewed with Turkey’s Largest Railway Modernization Project.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu has announced the completion of construction of the Samsun-Sivas Kalın railway line project which is Turkey's largest railway modernization project was launched in 2015. Minister Karaismailoğlu reminded that the Samsun-Sivas Kalın railway line, one of the first railway lines in Turkey and opened in 1932, was closed to transportation after 83 years of service, in order to be modernized on 29 September 2015. Within the scope of the project, the railway line that opened the Black Sea to Anatolia by transferring the signal system at European Union standards by renovating the entire infrastructure and superstructure of the 431 km line consisting of 378 km current line and 53 km station side roads; He stated that commercial trials were started by reconnecting Samsun port to Central Anatolia Region.
