The 3rd Project Steering Committee Meeting of the Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan Project (KOCAELI SUMP) Was Held

The Project Steering Committee met for the 3rd time on June 15, 2023, as part of the Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.

The meeting took place at Kocaeli Congress Center and was hosted by Mr. Ahmet Çelebi, the Head of Transportation Department at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, was attended by Head of EU Investments Department, Mrs. Tijen İĞCİ, Phd., Mr. Serdar YILMAZ, Contract Manager and Mr. Alper KAYA, Publicity and Visibility Officer on behalf of the Contracting Authority.

Information regarding the progress of the project, including completed and ongoing activities, was presented by Mr. Philippe CALVIE, the Project Team Leader, Mr. Yücel Erdem DİŞLİ, the Local Project Manager, Ms. Melike Sarım Boynuyoğun, the Project Coordinator, and Mr. Murat Çağatay, the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Expert on behalf of the contractor EGIS & Boğaziçi Proje consortium.

In the project, which continued in accordance with the work schedule, information was given about the results of 12 thematic workshops held within the scope of stakeholder and citizen participation and the common vision of Kocaeli, which was determined by the votes of stakeholders and citizens. The trainings organized within the scope of capacity building activities and the experiences gained from the study visit were explained. Furthermore, within the scope of travel demand forecasting model studies, the details about the calibration and validation of the activity-based model (ABM) were conveyed.
