In scope of
the Strengthening the Transport Operating Structure and ERAs in IPA II
(2014-2020) Project under USOP, we realized a study visit to the Finnish cities
of Helsinki and Turku on 11-15 December. The Turkish delegation ,
consisting 6 of the Head of Department for EU Investments and the staff of the
EU Investments Department and 2 of the Project managers, met with the
authorities in Finland to examine possible collaborations, on-going projects,
and made field visits.
The Turkish
Delegation led by the Head of Department for EU Investments, IPA Director Tijen
İğci (PhD) started the study visit in Helsinki on 12 December and held meetings
with the officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications and transportation and communication agency Traficom. Finnish
officials shared their knowledge and experience with the Turkish delegation
about the implementations in the field of transportation in Finland, the
projects carried out and in progress, and the infrastructure and superstructure
investments they provided through these projects. The officials also provided
information on the EU support and funds.. On 13 December, during the meetings
with the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, existing and planned
transport and infrastructure projects and railway projects were discussed. On the
last day of the study visit, , the Turkish delegation was informed about traffic
safety, regional transportation system planning, regular maintenance and
monitoring of developments in the transportation system in the meetings in
Turku .were covered.
After the
study visit was successfully completed, our team returned to Türkiye on 15
December.
