
Within the
framework of the Türkiye-EU financial cooperation, under the Sectoral
Operational Programme (USOP) for Transport managed by the Ministry of Transport
and Infrastructure of Türkiye, the second technical inspection visit was
conducted for Lot 1 (Electric Bus and Charging Station) of the Post-Earthquake
Transport Recovery Action (PETRA) Kahramanmaraş, in which Kahramanmaraş
Metropolitan Municipality is the End Recipient of Assistance. Representatives
of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan
Municipality carried out the inspection at the production facility of Karsan
Otomotiv Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. in Bursa on 22–24 October 2025.
During the
visit, the production stations of the electric buses were toured and the Contractor
provided detailed information on the production processes. Subsequently, the
electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems of the buses on the production
line were thoroughly inspected in accordance with the technical specifications.
Particular attention was paid to electronic control units, interior fittings,
and overall system integration.
In the final
part of the inspection, a contract-covered electric bus that had completed
preliminary checks was taken for a test drive. Its performance was observed,
and the inspection was successfully completed following an evaluation of
compliance with the relevant technical criteria.
The electric
buses, having successfully passed the tests, will proceed through the factory’s
quality control processes and will be dispatched for delivery to Kahramanmaraş
Metropolitan Municipality.
The new electric
buses, soon to be in service in Kahramanmaraş, will provide environmentally
friendly transportation with zero emissions and fuel efficiency. With modern
interior design, accessibility for persons with disabilities, and high
passenger capacity, they will significantly enhance comfort in urban travel.
