#USOPontheway participated in European Mobility Week events in Ankara and Gaziantep

The European Commission's most important awareness campaign on sustainable urban mobility - the European Mobility Week- was celebrated in various cities in Turkey between September 16th to 22nd. #USOPontheway, the mobile promotional vehicle, also supported the European Mobility Week by participating in the activities at Bahçelievler 7th Street, which was closed to traffic on September 19th, and then at Gaziantep Festival Park on September 21st.

"Safe and Healthy with Sustainable Mobility" was the theme of the European Mobility Week, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Thousands of cities and towns also participated in Mobility Week, strengthening its driving force for sustainable urban mobility. During Mobility Week, it aims to improve the transportation planning and public transportation system of municipalities, increase bicycle and pedestrian roads, and for citizens to travel with alternative transportation methods instead of individual vehicles. Turkey ranked first with 617 participants in the events attended by 3057 cities and towns from 53 countries, and Spain followed Turkey with 467 participants.

Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Turkey, Marjanne de Kwaasteniet, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ankara, and Nihat Alkaş, Director General of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO, and many metropolitans attended the event in Ankara. Within the scope of  "Car Free Day", participants cycled by 7th Avenue, where colourful images are captured.

During the events in both Ankara and Gaziantep, #USOPontheway mobile promotional vehicle welcomed her visitors. In addition to the public, Ambassador Meyer-Landrut, Union of Municipalities of Turkey and Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, EGO General Manager, and accompanying delegations were among the visitors.

All the visitors received information about USOP and its related projects. Brochures and promotional materials are disseminated. At the same time, a photo studio (Green Box) was set up for those who wanted to turn Mobility Week into a permanent memory;  thus, complementary printouts were carried out.
