Within the scope of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Trabzon,
implemented under the Transport Sectoral Operational Programme for Transport
(USOP) managed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic
of Türkiye within the framework of Türkiye–EU financial cooperation, the 9th
and final Project Steering Committee Meeting was held online on 31 October
2025, with the participation of experts from the Department for EU Investments,
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, and the contractor consortium TYPSA &
Boğaziçi Proje & KAISER Engineering.
The meeting was opened by Adem Koç, Head of the Department for EU
Investments, on behalf of the Contracting Authority. Following the opening
remarks, Jose Laffond, Project Team Leader of the TYPSA & Boğaziçi Proje
& KAISER Engineering consortium, delivered a briefing on the trainings,
workshops, reports, and technical activities completed and currently in
progress under the project. Subsequently, detailed information was shared
regarding the preparatory activities carried out for the planned International
Sustainable Mobility Conference and the closing event.
In the closing session, Adem Koç, Head of the Department for EU
Investments, Sıla Yıldırım, Project Contract Manager, and Zülfü Turan, Deputy SRER,
shared their recommendations regarding the International Sustainable Mobility
Conference process with the participants.
Following the evaluation of project outputs and the detailed discussion of
the preparations for the upcoming International Sustainable Mobility Conference,
the 9th and final Project Steering Committee Meeting concluded at a
stage in which the Trabzon SUMP Project is approaching to its successful
completion.
