The 'Establishment and Management of Transport Corridors' Training of U-IMT Project, one of the important projects of USOP, was held.
The ‘Establishment and Management of Transport Corridors’ Training was given by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş within the scope of the project ‘Strengthening Intermodal Transport Services in the Turkish Railway Sector’ (U-IMT), which is one of the important projects of USOP. The project is co- financed by the European Union and the end recipient of the project is Strategy Development Directorate of Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye.
The training was held in Ankara on 18th -19th July 2024 and it was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; Presidency of Strategy Development and other relevant units of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, State Railways of the Republic of Türkiye (TCDD), TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş., Ministry of Trade; General Directorate of International Service Trade, Department of Logistics and Transport Services, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change; General Directorate of Spatial Planning.
Over two days, the training
covered fundamental concepts of transportation corridors. Sessions included
international corridors, political factors, trade analysis, route selection,
planning and governance, financial and performance management, promotion, ease
of trade, capacity development, and sustainability. The training was
interactive, adapting a Q&A format throughout the sessions.
