
Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (Kocaeli SUMP) 5th Project Steering Committee Meeting Was Held
Fifth Project
Steering Committee Meeting for Kocaeli Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP)
Project was held on 2 February 2024 at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality (KMM) Department
for Transport in order to follow up the progress in accordance with the project
schedule, plan objectives and contract requirements within the scope of Kocaeli
Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
The meeting was
hosted by Mr. Ali Bilgi, Head of the Transportation Department of Kocaeli
Metropolitan Municipality and his team, with the participation of Mrs. Tijen İğci
(PhD.), Head of Department for EU Investments, Mr. Adem Koç, Contract Manager
and Mr. Alper Kaya, Publicity and Visibility Officer on behalf of the
Contracting Authority.
Following the opening
speech by Mr. Ali Bilgi on the general progress of the project, Project Team
Leader, Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan Expert, Financing Expert, Project
Coordinator and Communication and Visibility Expert, on behalf of the
contractor EGIS & Boğaziçi Proje consortium, presented the progress of the
project phases in the last 3 months and the ongoing, completed and planned
works.
In the
presentation, the stages of the project were discussed in detail. The reports
submitted, trainings carried out within the scope of capacity-building
activities, the results of the completed model studies, target year forecasts, online
surveys conducted within the scope of stakeholder participation and the results
of the stakeholder meeting with wide participation were conveyed. Preliminary
information was also provided on the financial plan and monitoring and
evaluation plan to be prepared in the following period. Additional information
on the project process was provided by Cüneyt Çetintaş, KMM Transport Planning
Branch Manager, representing the End Beneficiary.
After all this
information, Mrs. Tijen İğci (PhD.), as the contracting authority, stated that
all processes related to the project were completed on time, in accordance with
the specifications and guidelines, and that the ongoing work is progressing in
accordance with the schedule and finally expressed their satisfaction with this
progress.
