The Head of Department Mr. Nedim YEŞİL and Department for EU Investments experts visited Belgium and Holland to examine approaches and EU bodies in Europe.
The main topic for the Brussels part of the tour was a full understanding of EU decision making system and the activities from the point of view of the EU decision-makers. During the Study Tour it was aimed to provide the participants with a first-hand knowledge and insight information on the European Commission and how to conduct more efficient collaboration in the upcoming period. Furthermore, another goal was to get information from EC on the status and content of the new IPA II program. In this context, training on European Union cooperation, EU institutions and insight for the decision making process was taken from Ghent University. Moreover a meeting with DG REGIO regarding its functions and activities, a meeting with DG NEAR concerning main features of IPA II and its differences compared to IPA I and a meeting with INEA on intelligent transport systems were also held on in Brussels.
During Netherlands part, trainings are carried out on transport related activities during IPA II programming period; such as accessible urban transport, chain mobility and parking, ITS & smart mobility, traffic modelling. Visits to innovation test center of RWS (Rijkswaterstaat) and to Technical University Eindhoven were done.
