Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for Trabzon (Sump Trabzon) Project 2nd Steering Committee Meeting was Held

The second Steering Committee meeting, following the progress of the Sustainable Mobility Plan for Trabzon Project  initiated in June 2023 under the under the USOP,  took place on January 25, 2024, at Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality.

The meeting, hosted by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, was participated by Secretary General of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Gürkan Üçüncü, Head of EU Investments Department Ms. Tijen İğci (PhD), Mr. Adem Koç as the Contract Manager, and experts from the USOP.

On behalf of the contractor TYPSA & Boğaziçi Proje & KAISER Mühendislik consortium, Mr. Jose Laffond Yges, Project Team Leader, and and Mr. Murat Çağatay, the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Expert presented the progress of the project.

Within the scope of the project, data collection activities to assess Trabzon's current mobility are ongoing. Plans have been made, and fieldwork has commenced for mobility assessments. Furthermore, training sessions on transportation planning, communication skills, and Geographic Information System (GIS) have been provided to enhance awareness related to urban mobility. Interdisciplinary workshops and sessions have been conducted to encourage active participation of project stakeholders.
