Trabzon Sump was featured at The Urban Mobılıty Days 2025 Event

The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Trabzon, implemented under the Transport Sectoral Operational Programme (USOP) managed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye within the framework of Türkiye–EU financial cooperation, was presented at the Urban Mobility Days 2025, the flagship urban mobility policy conference organized by the European Commission. Held from 30 September to 2 October 2025 in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania and the 2025 European Green Capital, the event provided an opportunity to showcase the project to an international audience through the SUMP for Trabzon exhibition stand.

Throughout the event, participants were introduced to Trabzon’s SUMP vision through informative materials supported by brochures, posters, and visual content. The project highlighted the city’s sustainable transport strategies, including public transport, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, traffic management, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions, sharing these themes with international stakeholders.

Presentations delivered during the conference elaborated on the overall framework, objectives, main components, vision-setting process, planning approach, and action plan outputs of the project. In addition, smart mobility applications, low-emission strategies, and institutional capacity-building activities were presented in detail to the participants.

As part of the promotional activities carried out during the event, the distribution of brochures and the display of posters enhanced the international recognition of the SUMP and enabled Trabzon’s sustainable mobility vision to reach a wider audience. These efforts established a strong foundation for future collaborations and the transfer of best practices to the city.

The SUMP for Trabzon Project Team emphasized that participation in the event represented a valuable opportunity to promote the city’s sustainable mobility vision at the international level. They also highlighted that sharing Trabzon’s experiences on similar platforms is crucial for fostering joint solutions among cities striving for sustainable urban mobility.
