Signing Ceremony
for the 1st Transport Project of IPA-III, “The Maritime
Decarbonisation and Green Shipping Programme for Türkiye” was executed on 19
June 2023. The agreement starting the Programme was signed with the
participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs
Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye Ambassador
Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, EBRD’s Director for Infrastructure in Türkiye, Middle
East and Africa Sue Barrett and the Head of Transport Operating Structure and
Director General of EU Affairs and Foreign Relations Burak Aykan.
The Programme,
in which the IPA funds and EBRD loans are combined, aims to support Turkish
maritime sector via the projects on the way through their transition to
low-carbon economy.
