
Director General
for European Union Affairs and Foreign Relations and the Head of Operating
Structure Mr. Burak AYKAN and the accompanying delegation conducted a series of
contacts in Brussels.
During the visit
carried out between 3-4 November 2022, meetings were held with Directorate General for Environment, Maritime and
Fisheries (DG MARE), Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE)
and Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG
NEAR).
In the meetings, views on our ATLAS project, where we will get guiding
outputs in the harmonization of our transport legislation with the EU acquis,
were exchanged
We assessed our policies and priorities in the field of maritime and
discussed our possible cooperation in the coming period with DG Charlina VİTCHEVA
and her colleagues in DG MARE.
With DG Henrik HOLOEI
and his team, we touched upon Türkiye’s investments in the field of transport within the context of the Ministry's
2053 vision, our policy priorities and the importance of Türkiye in terms of
global logistics corridors. We mutually demonstrated our determination to
increase our cooperation in the field of transport between the Ministry and the
EU.
In DG NEAR with DG Maciej POPOWSKI, we discussed about the achievements of Türkiye
in the transport sector, the Ministry’s efforts within the scope of the
European Green Deal and our approach to global initiatives such as the Global
Gateway.
Also, subsequent to talks, we exchanged views on the current projects,
lessons learnt from IPA-I and IPA-II as well as the Ministry’s preparations for
IPA-III in the technical meeting headed by Mrs. Tijen İĞCİ (PhD), Head of
Department for EU Investments.
