First Progress Meeting of 2025 for the Construction of Cerkezkoy-Kapikule Section of Halkali-Kapikule Railway Line Project Realised

The first Project Progress Meeting of the year for the Construction of Cerkezkoy-Kapikule Section of Halkali-Kapikule Railway Line Project, which is financed under the Sectoral Operational Programme for Transport (USOP) managed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, has been realized on 15 January 2025 with the participation of representatives of the Employer – T.R. Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Directorate General for EU Affairs and Foreign Relations Department for EU Investments, General Directorate of Turkish State Railways, Contractor and Engineer.

Head of Department for EU Investments Tijen İğci (PhD), representatives of TCDD General Directorate, TCDD Site Control Organization, the Engineer and the Contractor were present during the project progress meeting, which was led by Ömrüye Ayan, Deputy General Director for EU Affairs and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Engineer representatives gave a pre-briefing to the Employer and TCDD officials prior to the progress meeting. A presentation covering the general physical and financial progress of the project, as well as occupational health and safety, environmental issues and community relations has been given by the Contractor, during the progress meeting. Moreover the points regarding the remaining design works, on-going infrastructure and superstructure works, city crossings, and issues that are carried out in coordination with other public institutions and organizations were discussed at the meeting.
