The Visit of the European Parliament, Transport and Tourism Committee To Our Country and Our Ministry

A delegation of 8 parliamentarians leading by Michael CRAMER, Head of the Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN), one of the 20 different expertise committees of the European Parliament, which is the only body elected directly by the citizens of the EU, had an official visit to Turkey between 07 - 09 April 2015.

The Committee on Transport and Tourism which visits the countries that stand out in the field of transport and tourism every year, visited Turkey as an outstanding country with major transport infrastructure investments in the last period. This visit from the European Parliament, has a special importance in terms of being the first visit to our Ministry.

In the context of this official visit, The Delegation visited the Vice Minister of MoTMC Mr. Yahya BAŞ on April 7, 2015. Before this, The Delegation also paid a visit to Mrs. Oya ERONAT, the Deputy Head of Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism Commission of TGNA.

After completing these visits in Ankara, The Delegation, with the presence of Ministry staff, observed the works of infrastructure projects in İstanbul and İzmit. In this context, The Gulf Bridge Crossing, Ankara - İstanbul High Speed Train, Marmaray Eurasia tunnel and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge had been visited.

Within the scope of this visit, The Delegation also contacted with General Director of Turkish Airlines, Mr. Temel KOTİL and the representatives of the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
