Scope of the Work
SUMP
Izmir is intended to define policies and actions to be implemented, concerning
mainly but not exclusively transport systems. These policies and interventions,
well-structured in a strategic and medium-long term vision of Izmir, will
incentivize sustainable mobility, increasing the use of non-motorized trips,
shared mobility and public transport. Adopted policies and interventions should
facilitate shift from car travel and contribute to reduction of congestions,
de-carbonisation, and other negative effects due to excessive use of private
vehicles.
