The Directorate of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications
Research Centre (UDHAM) of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure held
the first Project Steering Committee Meeting of its project “Enhancement of
Institutional and Administrative Capacity of Directorate of Transport, Maritime
Affairs, and Communications Research Centre,” funded by the EU and the Republic
of Turkey, online on Friday, April 9, 2021.
The stages and work plans of the UDHAM project, which started to be
implemented in February 2021, were presented and discussed in detail among
representatives of the UDHAM, EU Investments Department of the General
Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, the Directorate for EU
Affairs and the Contractor of the Project, WEglobal Danışmanlık A.Ş.
This project aims to enhance the institutional and administrative
capacity of the research centre and to develop and implement an R&D grant
scheme to promote and support research, development and innovation in the
transport sector and consequently improve resources, time, and cost-efficiency
of the transport system in Turkey. Within the scope of the project, which has
12 months in duration, an R&D grant mechanism is being developed to support
the transport sector for the development of environmentally friendly, safer, cost-effective,
reliable transport systems through industry-oriented research, innovation, and
transfer of technology and knowledge.
